We had some issues with the table creator which allowed tables to be created without all of the necessary attributes. We fixed the problem, and as a result, you shouldn’t have any trouble loading your seating chart page. Sorry for the inconvenience.
SimpleSeating Upgrade: What’s new?
We upgraded SimpleSeating last night and you might notice a few changes.
1. Custom Tables/Objects
If the default table set does not meet your needs, you can create your own tables in the “Table/Objects” panel. You can create a round or rectangle shape with any number of seats.
This means you can create a cake table, sweetheart’s table, dance floor, or bar area for use in your seating chart. The possibilities are endless and should help you recreate the environment with significant accuracy.
2. Autoscaling Optional
By default, the capacity of the seating canvas will still scale automatically based on the number of expected guests you specify in the “Event Setting” panel. But now, for the first time, if you know the dimensions of the room you can uncheck the autoscale option and specify the height and width of the room.
We recommend you use the greater number as the width.
3. Capacity Increase
SimpleSeating will now handle events with up to 500 guests.
4. New look for main site
As you might have noticed the homepage got a bit of an upgrade too. We’re hoping to improve all aspects of the site design as we continue to improve.
5. New Pricing
We’ve lowered the cost to get a SimpleSeating account. Now you can enjoy all that it has to offer for only $14.95.
6. Pro version on hold
Lastly, we’ve had a lot of issues with the pro version and have decided to take it down and give it an overhaul. If you are interested in a pro version, please let us know and we’ll give you an update about the status of it’s return.
How do I get back to the guest manager from the room layout?
Just click on the header “Guest List” above the guest list to manage the guest list.
How do I place a guest in a seat?
Just click on a guest from the guest list and drag them to the seat you want. You can also drag them from one seat to another. Guests that are linked together will be moved together.
Why are there no red guests in my guest list?
Red guests mean they are not coming to your event, so there is no reason to put them in a seat. Therefore, they do not show up in the guest list on the room layout, but they will show in the guest list on the guest manager page.
How do I get a table into the room?
Just click and drag the appropriate table from the table panel at the top of the room layout and drop it onto the room layout grid.
How do I get a guest into a group that I’ve created?
Guests can be added to a group in two different ways.
You can create the guest(s) in a specific group by creating the group, selecting it from the groups panel, and clicking the “Add Guest” link.
Alternatively, you can drag and drop the guest(s) from the guest panel onto any existing group in the group panel.
How do I change the RSVP status of a guest?
Select the guest from the Guest panel and chose the correct RSVP status from the dropdown list provided.
What do the different colors of the guest icons mean?
The colors correspond to the RSVP status of the guests. Red means they have declined, Green means they have accepted, and Yellow (default) means they have not yet responded.
